Students can study in a range of European countries for a period of three to twelve months. Erasmus exchange students may also be eligible to receive a study grant and don’t have to pay any study fees to the university abroad.

Furthermore, students that complete a full year Erasmus exchange are exempt from paying course fees to UCLan for the year they are away. Study abroad will also count towards your UCLan degree! For more information please visit www.erasmus.ac.uk

Based at Teikyo University, Holland, the Maastricht Center for Transatlantic Studies - www.ucmo.edu/mcts - offers two semester-length study-abroad programmes plus a one-month summer programme per year, focusing on a comparative, multidisciplinary approach to transatlantic relationships and developments. Staff and students from 26 institutions in the Maastricht Consortium gather in a central location to form an interactive, international learning community. Its mission statement:

"The Maastricht Center for Transatlantic Studies seeks to encourage and promote a transatlantic perspective by providing faculty and students with a unique multicultural environment in order to aid their personal, professional, and academic development."

Each teaching semester is divided into four intensive modules of three and one-half weeks’ duration. There are several courses available in each block, and students select one course from these options for a total of four courses per semester. Courses from the social sciences, humanities, fine arts and business comprise the majority of course offerings.

Time is provided between blocks to allow for student travel. Student fees include a student’s private room, board, use of Teikyo University facilities (including computers and Internet), resident permit fees, field trips, orientation fees, books and on-site support.
