Frida Larsson-Sweden
Football-obsessed Swede Frida Larsson is using UCLan as a stepping stone to her dream job as a sports writer or presenter.
The 22 year-old from Gothenburg has just completed her final assignments at the end of her first year on the BA (Hons) Sports Journalism degree.
She says that she chose UCLan because it was the leading UK University in her chosen field: "The Journalism department has got the best reputation out of all of the places in England that offer Sports Journalism.
"I really enjoy the course here because it enables me to constantly improve my sports writing and I learn the profession from proper sports journalists.
"If you are aiming to become a journalist, UCLan is definitely the best University to do it, and everyone here is really helpful and friendly."
Frida had no problems with adjusting to her new home when she moved into the University-owned cluster flats: "I found it really easy to settle in as I got on well with my flatmates, she said. "I couldn't believe that my English improved almost instantly too."
"I also soon realised how football crazy everyone is over here, which suited me perfect!"
