Accommodation for international students

University Halls

UCLan offers students a wide range of accommodation both on and off-campus. For more detailed information about the accommodation available, tips on what to bring with you and for a virtual tour please go to UCLan’s accommodation website.

International students are encouraged to arrive at the University earlier than UK students to attend a pre-sessional programme specifically designed to help them settle into life in the UK, and accommodation for this period will be arranged on your behalf, if the University is notified of your attendance on the programme. Instructions on how to do this will be sent with your offer letter.

For the rest of the year, every student will be offered a choice of places to live, which are close to the campus and managed or registered by the University.

When you are made an offer of an academic place at the University of Central Lancashire, the Admissions Office will provide you with information on how to apply for your accommodation.

Accommodation on campus is generally allocated to encourage students to integrate with others from the UK and from other countries. If you have particular preferences about sharing it is important to make this request early.

All accommodation is self catering and close to reasonably priced shops and food outlets. And the cost of living in the Central Lancashire region is generally lower than in many other parts of the UK.

Please note, we do not offer host families for students to live with.

There is plenty of ensuite accommodation available, but most kitchens are shared with other students, and only a very limited number of self-contained studios are available in the private sector.
